How to create opportunities

This feature is in limited availability and available to select users.

You can create opportunities manually or set up automatic creation from your Calendly bookings.

Create an opportunity manually

Create an opportunity for any lead, whether they booked with you or came from another source.

To create an opportunity:

  1. Go to Opportunities.
  2. Select + Add opportunity.
  3. Enter your opportunity details.
  4. Select Save.

Your opportunity is now on the board. You can move it between stages and edit it any time.

Create opportunities automatically from bookings

Set up an automation so that every booking made with a selected event type creates an opportunity automatically. This is perfect for event types where you meet with potential clients.

From the Opportunities page:

  1. Go to Opportunities.
  2. Select Customize and Automations.
  3. Select + Add new automation.
  4. Name your automation.
  5. Select which event type should create opportunities.
  6. Choose which stage new opportunities from that event type should land in.
  7. Select Save.

From the event type editor:

  1. Go to Scheduling.
  2. Select the event type you want to automate to open the editor.
  3. In the editor, select More Options.
  4. Look for the Contact automations section.
  5. Select + Add next to Create new opportunity.
  6. Give the automation a name and set the stage you want new opportunities to be assigned to.
  7. Select Enable.

Now every time someone books that event, an opportunity is created for them automatically and placed in your chosen stage. The contact is linked automatically so you have all the booking details.

Turn off an automation

If you want to stop creating opportunities from a specific event type:

  1. Go to Opportunities.
  2. Select Customize and Automations.
  3. Find the automation you want to turn off and toggle it off.
  4. Select Done.

Opportunities that were already created stay on your board. Only new bookings will not create opportunities.
